Prototype: Exploring an idea

Hey everyone!

 

My idea for this game is that it would be a Metroidvania style game. It is story-driven but the focus is on the exploration. The object of the game is to explore an undersea world and at the same time catch as many fish as you can to give you fame and wealth. The platform I used was Twine because it is an excellent platform to convey a story with multiple-choice options. It also allowed for the insertion of my graphics to help tell the story and add atmosphere. It really gives a flavor of the exploration of the world and the purpose of the character. In the final game, the mechanic to catch the fish and refill air would be much more sophisticated and would keep track of the numbers as you loop through the game. I was able to create several different outcomes and provide the feeling of an adventure. I hope everyone finds it fun! In the final game, I am thinking about having many different areas to explore and different collectibles to upgrade the player's gear to allow the player to explore further.
